How to share an iPhone alarm with friends
To share an alarm with friends, create the alarm in Timey, choose its date and time, and send the invite link. Friends join in the app, and you can see who joins and confirms when it is time to show up.

1. Decide what the alarm means
First agree on the plan, the meeting place and the time. Decide whether the alarm means start getting ready, leave home or begin the event. For a workout, those can be three different times.
Name the alarm after the action. Leave for the gym is clearer than gym. For a date-specific plan such as a birthday or trip, check the date as well as the time. Agree on how everyone interprets the time if anyone is traveling.
2. Create an alarm your friends recognize
Create the alarm in Timey and personalize it with a curated background or your own photo. Choose a sound that fits the occasion and try it before the event. A distinctive image helps the invitation stand out in a crowded conversation.
3. Send the invite link
Copy the alarm’s invitation link and send it through the messaging platform your group already uses. Friends can open it to join the alarm in Timey. Ask them to install the app on a compatible iPhone and accept the invitation before the plan begins.
An invitation is only useful once people join. Check the members rather than assuming everyone in the chat accepted. Timey keeps the shared alarm connected to the people involved and shows confirmations when the moment arrives.
4. Check who is ready
Timey makes member confirmations visible, and its current App Store description includes snooze updates. That gives your group more context than a silent reminder on each person’s phone.
Keep directions, tickets and any changes in the group conversation. The alarm handles the cue to act; a good plan still needs a clear place to meet and a realistic amount of preparation time.
Use Timey alongside Locket, Yope and Howbout
If your friend group uses Locket, Yope or Howbout, Timey gives your next plan a shared alarm. Locket puts friends’ photos on a Home Screen widget, Yope focuses on sharing photos with friends, and Howbout is a shared calendar app for keeping up with friends. They help you stay connected in different ways.
Use Howbout to keep up with plans, Locket or Yope to share moments, and Timey to create a personal alarm for when it is time to get ready or meet. Send your Timey invite link through your usual messaging app and ask everyone to join. You can see who joins and confirms in Timey. These are separate apps; joining a Timey alarm does not require connecting a Locket, Yope or Howbout account.
When a shared alarm is useful
Use one for a gym partner, a study group, a trip departure or a birthday plan. Each has the same useful structure: one action, an agreed time and people who expect to see each other.
We built Timey around that everyday connection. Its combination of invitations, personalized alarms and member updates is why it is our choice for shared plans. Start with something simple, test everyone’s setup and make your next plan one you actually show up for.
